WHY MINIATURE HEREFORDS

THINK SMALL

SMALL  = LESS FOOD INTAKE = LESS EXPENSE

SMALL  = LESS POOP =LESS WORK TO MAINTAIN

SMALL = SHORTER MUSCLES = TENDER MEAT

SMALL = LESS ACREAGE NEEDED (2 MINIATURES PER ACRE)

SMALL = LESS FENCE

SMALL HERD = REDUCTION IN PROPERTY TAXES

SMALL COW = KID FRIENDLY

The Beginning

Where It All Began

In 2015 I was surfing the internet and instantly fell in love with a cow and calf for sale in Texas. One week later, I became the proud owner of my first Miniature Hereford cow and calf. We are proud to be one of the original registered Hereford farms in Louisiana. Each of our breeding stock is considered a part of our family. Fed twice a day, provided the best grass available, brushed routinely and stalled at the slightest hint of bad weather, our cows are truly spoiled to say the least. Come by to experience Oak Mound Farm for yourself!

MEET GRACIE AND MARTHA

MissionStatement

We want to encourage those landowners with small tracts of land that they can own cattle just like the large landowners. The beauty of this breed is that they require less space, eat less and are extremely gentle.
